ABOUT THE U90C SPORTS REFEREE TEAM PROGRAM

U90C SPORTS is dedicated to supporting the North Texas Soccer Referee Community in a number of ways.  As a member of the U90C Sports Referee Team, we want to partner with you on your journey to enhance your skills as an official, and reward you along the way.

  • U90C Sports offers multiple Referee Clinics throughout the year to support individuals who are interested in joining the North Texas Soccer Referee Community and becoming a licensed official. (see below)
  • Additionally, we also provide Referee Coaching / Assessments at various times and events during the soccer year. (see below)
  • And last, but certainly not least…as a part of the U90C SPORTS family, we show you our appreciation and reward you for being a part of our team through our U90C Referee Loyalty Program. (see below)

Our September U90C Sports Referee Clinic is in the books and was a great success.  Hosted in conjunction with the Wylie Youth Soccer Association at Founders Park on 9/17, the clinic focused on the basic concepts of: Offside, Foul Recognition, Situational Issues, Game Assignment and Availability, and the added responsibilities of their role in the Soccer Community.  On behalf of U90C Sports and John O’Kane Referee Assigning, we are excited to welcome these 30 new graduates to the U90C Sports Referee Team.

Additionally, these new graduates will now be eligible to participate in the U90C Sports Referee Loyalty Program.

REFEREE COACHING / MENTORING ASSESSMENTS

Throughout the U90C Leagues seasons (Fall & Spring), we offer multiple opportunities for our referee Coaches / Mentors to provide members of the U90C Referee Team hands-on, one-on-one instructional and educational feedback through live gameday assessments.

  • The Coaching / Mentoring program is designed to build up the U90C Referee Team members and provide educational opportunities to advance to higher levels.
  • At U90C we offer ongoing Development Assessments throughout the year for our Referees by:
    • Providing development through ongoing training sessions.
    • Increasing the individual level of responsibilities.
    • Providing support throughout the process.
  • Several of the end goals of the supervised Coaching / Mentoring program are to:
    • Develop a better understanding and an overall increase in soccer knowledge.
    • Develop leadership skills.
    • Develop a better understanding of the fundamentals of becoming a United States Soccer Federation official.

Congratulations to Edson Lopez as a recipient of the Young Referee of The Year award in North Texas for 2023.  Edson honed his skills in numerous U90C Tournaments, and our NPL & RPL Leagues. (Read More)

REFEREE LOYALTY PROGRAM

U90C SPORTS is proud to be offering a program that is the 1st of its kind here to the North Texas Soccer Referee Community. 

  • As a part of the U90C SPORTS family, we want to show you our appreciation and reward you for being a part of our team.
  • Additionally, we want to incentivize you to progress / advance in your officiating journey.

  • At the end of each league season, every referee has the opportunity to earn a “end of season bonus” based on participation.
